The file extension W64 marks audio files in the Sony Wave64 audio format. Also known as Sony Pictures Digital Wave 64 format supports any sample rates, channel numbers and bit depths. In addition, the Wave 64 format no longer has the 4GB file size limit of the Microsoft Waveformat.

Some programs may be capable only of viewing contents of W64 files or offer file conversion options, but may not be capable of editing such files.
It is possible that although a compatible program has been installed on user’s system, it is not used by the system to open it. This may happen because no default application was associated with this type of files. To associate W64 files with given application, select "Open with" from drop-down menu (accessed by right-clicking on the file).
