The suffix QBW is used by the financial accounting software Quickbooks. A QBW file is a compiled, aggregated file of all financial information about a business. It contains the financial data, templates and logos up to the letters and pictures. In addition, files from other Quickbooks products may be included. Qbw files can also be backed up with a password.
qwb files can be saved as qbb or qbm files. It should be noted that qbm only secures the financial data. When you start a backup, Quickbooks also creates a qbw.Tlg file that logs all transactions since the last backup to prevent data loss.
Because QWB or QBB is a proprietary format, such files can only be opened by Quickbooks itself.
Most often resolving problems with opening QBW files is very simple. Just install an appropriate program that supports such files. All of the listed programs support QBW files, but may vary in offered function and purpose. Some programs may be capable only of viewing contents of QBW files or offer file conversion options, but may not be capable of editing such files.
It is possible that although a compatible program has been installed on user’s system, it is not used by the system to open it. This may happen because no default application was associated with this type of files. To associate QBW files with given application, select "Open with" from drop-down menu (accessed by right-clicking on the file). Then select from the list the program or application you want to be used to open this type of file. If the QuickBooks applications is not on the list, select "Browse" option in order to manually locate the directory where QuickBooks has been installed.
Sometimes problems with opening QBW files may not lie with the application itself, but can arise due to other causes, such as:
