The file extension PRC is used for files in the so-called Product Representation Compact Format. It is a 3D file format that can be used to embed 3D data in a PDF document.
In addition to the product structure and the geometry data, product manufacturing information (PMI), ie manufacturing information, can also be included. With Adobe Acrobat Extended, various 3D formats can be converted to PRC format for integration into a PDF document.
The Extended Version has been discontinued with version 10 of Acrobat.
Most often resolving problems with opening PRC files is very simple. Just install an appropriate program that supports such files.
