The file extension ORI is often used to mark the original version of a file. However, the file already has an extension that reflects its type. For example, textfile.txt becomes textfile.Txt.Ori. The extension is similarly used to differentiate between original and backup files. So textfile.Txt.Ori and textfile.Txt.Bak.
Most often resolving problems with opening ORI files is very simple. Just install an appropriate program that supports such files. All of the listed programs support ORI files, but may vary in offered function and purpose. Some programs may be capable only of viewing contents of ORI files or offer file conversion options, but may not be capable of editing such files.
It is possible that although a compatible program has been installed on user’s system, it is not used by the system to open it.
