MNU files are customization files for the Adobe Photoshop image-editing software. In it, data for own Menkonfigurationen be stored, such as which Meneintrge to be displayed at all, or whether a menu should be highlighted.
For example, a new CS5.Mnu is included with Photoshop CS 5, which highlights all new menu options. There are also presets like 'Film and Video' or 'Image Analysis'. To use a MNU file, you can usually simply double-click it or reach it under 'Window-> Workspace. If a menu setting should appear here, the MNU file must be copied to 'Preferences / Customize' in the Photoshop main directory.
You can create or change your own menus under 'Edit-> Mens-> Tabs (Men)'. There is no way to load an MNU file. For a menu adjustment to be selected here, the corresponding MNU file must be in the correct directory (see above).
Especially useful are MNU files to save your own customization (for example, for a new installation) or to transfer them to another (work) computer.
Most often resolving problems with opening MNU files is very simple. Just install an appropriate program that supports such files. All of the listed programs support MNU files, but may vary in offered function and purpose. Some programs may be capable only of viewing contents of MNU files or offer file conversion options, but may not be capable of editing such files.
It is possible that although a compatible program has been installed on user’s system, it is not used by the system to open it. This may happen because no default application was associated with this type of files. To associate MNU files with given application, select "Open with" from drop-down menu (accessed by right-clicking on the file). Then select from the list the program or application you want to be used to open this type of file. If the AutoCAD applications is not on the list, select "Browse" option in order to manually locate the directory where AutoCAD has been installed.
Sometimes problems with opening MNU files may not lie with the application itself, but can arise due to other causes, such as:
