MD0 files are cache files for the metadata of the file browser of the image processing software Adobe Photoshop. The Photoshop File Manager can be used for image surveys and offers some simple image manipulation options such as rotate. Furthermore, images can be specially marked or sorted.
These changes are only temporary. To save these settings, you can create an MD0 file via 'File -> export cache' in the file browser. In addition to the MD0 file further tb0 (for thumbnails / thumbnails) files are generated. In this way you can save these settings and also the thumbnails are loaded faster.
When these files are placed in the folder containing the related images, the settings are used when viewing the folder in the file browser.
It should be noted that the file browser is now included under the name Adobe Bridge Photoshop CS. Adobe Bridge stores this cache information in files with the suffix bc and bct.
Most often resolving problems with opening MD0 files is very simple. Just install an appropriate program that supports such files. All of the listed programs support MD0 files, but may vary in offered function and purpose. Some programs may be capable only of viewing contents of MD0 files or offer file conversion options, but may not be capable of editing such files.
It is possible that although a compatible program has been installed on user’s system, it is not used by the system to open it. This may happen because no default application was associated with this type of files. To associate MD0 files with given application, select "Open with" from drop-down menu (accessed by right-clicking on the file). Then select from the list the program or application you want to be used to open this type of file. If the MISO-J applications is not on the list, select "Browse" option in order to manually locate the directory where MISO-J has been installed.
Sometimes problems with opening MD0 files may not lie with the application itself, but can arise due to other causes, such as:
