The file extension GEM identifies documents of the DTP (Desktop Publishing) program Corel Ventura. This metaformat is vector based.
When Ventura Publisher was originally developed by Ventura Software for MS-DOS and later Windows and Mac OS, the software was acquired by Corel in 1993 and renamed Ventura. The application has not been developed for some time but is still being sold on the US market.
