The CRX file extension marks install packages of extensions, themes, or plugins for the Google Chrome web browser. CRX files add new or enhanced functionality to Chrome, such as ad blocking, tab management, or search engine options.
CRX files are a compressed archive and include js, json, html and images files. Although most extensions can be installed directly via the Install button of a web page, CRX files can also be added to the browser via drag & drop.
