The suffix CRV indicates files that contain gradient (tonal curves) settings of the Corel PhotoPaint image-editing software.
PhotoPaint is the image editor in CorelDRAW Graphics Suite and is not available separately. Much like Adobe Photoshop PhotoPaint offers many features for professional image editing and is quite common in prepress.
These files can be found in the Custom DataTonecrve directory in the Graphics Suite main directory.
Most often resolving problems with opening CRV files is very simple. Just install an appropriate program that supports such files. All of the listed programs support CRV files, but may vary in offered function and purpose. Some programs may be capable only of viewing contents of CRV files or offer file conversion options, but may not be capable of editing such files.
It is possible that although a compatible program has been installed on user’s system, it is not used by the system to open it.
