The file extension ASND identifies so-called Adobe sound or sound documents. It is a format used only by some Adobe products. Asnd files are not audio files but a kind of container that contains the original audio files of a project as well as the changes, effects and other audio settings. The original files are not changed, which is why this procedure is also called non-destructive.
ASND files are mostly used for editing as well as effect editing audio data before adding to video files. It should be noted that ASND files can only be edited in Soundbooth, all other programs can only process them.
Most often resolving problems with opening ASND files is very simple. Just install an appropriate program that supports such files. Some programs may be capable only of viewing contents of ASND files or offer file conversion options, but may not be capable of editing such files.
It is possible that although a compatible program has been installed on user’s system, it is not used by the system to open it. This may happen because no default application was associated with this type of files. To associate ASND files with given application, select "Open with" from drop-down menu (accessed by right-clicking on the file). Then select from the list the program or application you want to be used to open this type of file. If the Adobe Flash Professional applications is not on the list, select "Browse" option in order to manually locate the directory where Adobe Flash Professional has been installed.
Sometimes problems with opening ASND files may not lie with the application itself, but can arise due to other causes, such as:
