Files with the extension AHS are so-called Adobe Halftone Screen files. Ah's files include settings for creating halftone images in the Photoshop image-editing software. Halftoning (halftone raster) is the name given to grating, which is used, for example, in preparing newspapers for printing.
Before you can apply an AHS file to an image, it must be converted to grayscale and then to bitmap using the halftone raster method. In the following dialogue box 'halftone raster' various settings can be made, which can be saved and loaded.
Most often resolving problems with opening AHS files is very simple. Just install an appropriate program that supports such files. This may happen because no default application was associated with this type of files. To associate AHS files with given application, select "Open with" from drop-down menu (accessed by right-clicking on the file). Then select from the list the program or application you want to be used to open this type of file. If the Adobe Photoshop applications is not on the list, select "Browse" option in order to manually locate the directory where Adobe Photoshop has been installed.
